City Life Butterfly Delux XV850

The City Life Butterfly Delux XV850 is a low-speed electric passenger rickshaw built for last-mile city transport. It is sold as the Delux version of the Butterfly family with a larger 48V battery pack and a D+4 seating layout that carries the driver plus four passengers.

Performance and range

Power comes from an electric motor mated to a single-speed automatic transmission with one forward and one reverse gear. Top speed is capped at 25 km/h in line with L3M low-speed category rules, and the 135 Ah battery delivers a claimed range of around 80 km on a full charge. The pack takes about 5 hours to charge fully.

Chassis and comfort

The rickshaw rides on three wheels with drum brakes all around, telescopic hydraulic front shockers and a leaf-spring rear setup. Ground clearance of 200 mm and a turning radius of 2400 mm help it handle crowded streets. Standard fitment includes a digital instrument cluster and an automatic gearbox for easy city driving.

Price and positioning

With a starting price of around ₹1.56 lakh, the Butterfly Delux XV850 competes with other premium passenger e-rickshaws and is aimed at commercial fleet and last-mile operators who want a bigger battery over a lighter commuter model.
