VariantsThe City Life Butterfly XV850 is a compact low-speed electric passenger rickshaw aimed at last-mile city and market commuting. With a D+4 layout it carries the driver plus four passengers and is built around a simple, low-maintenance electric drivetrain.
Performance and range
A 2 hp electric motor drives the rear wheel through an automatic gearbox, and top speed is capped at 25 km/h to stay in the L3M low-speed passenger carrier category. The 48V / 135 Ah battery gives a claimed range of around 100 km and takes about 7 hours to charge fully.
Chassis and ride
Three-wheel construction with drum brakes, telescopic hydraulic front shockers and a leaf-spring rear suspension handles uneven city roads. A 200 mm ground clearance and 2400 mm turning radius keep it nimble in tight traffic and narrow lanes.
Price and value
Starting at around ₹1.08 lakh, the Butterfly XV850 is positioned as an affordable entry into commercial e-rickshaw operation, with running costs far below petrol or LPG three-wheelers.
