Yamaha EC-06

The Yamaha EC-06 is Yamaha's first electric scooter for India, co-developed with Bengaluru-based River on the startup's Indie platform. Launched on 2 February 2026 at ₹1,67,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it wraps the River Indie's powertrain in a sportier, Yamaha-styled body aimed squarely at urban commuters.

Range & Charging

A fixed 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivers a claimed 169 km range on the Indian Driving Cycle. It charges from 0-80% in about 8 hours and 0-100% in about 10 hours using a portable charger that plugs into a standard 3-pin 6A home socket; Yamaha does not offer fast charging.

Performance & Handling

An IPMSM motor produces 6.7kW peak power and 26Nm of torque, with a claimed top speed of 79 km/h. Three ride modes (Eco, Standard, Power) and a reverse mode are offered, with regenerative braking and a Combi Brake System using 200mm disc brakes at both ends.

Full-LED lighting, a colour LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity through the Y-connect app, 24.5-litre underseat storage and a USB charging port are standard. The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, with a 3-year or 30,000 km battery warranty.
