Vegh S60: Bathinda's city electric scooter
The Vegh S60 is a family electric scooter from Vegh Automobiles, the Punjab-based EV startup that showed the S60 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 before putting it on sale alongside the slower S60 Beta. Unveiled at Rs 1.25 lakh at the expo, it now retails around Rs 1.03 lakh ex-showroom depending on the dealer network and state subsidies.
Range, battery and charging
A 2.1 kWh Li-ion pack feeds a BLDC hub motor rated at about 2 kW, good for a claimed top speed of 58 km/h. Vegh quotes three riding modes — Eco, Power and Sport — with claimed range spanning 65 km in the conservative mode up to 100 km in ideal conditions. Charging through the bundled 600 W charger takes roughly 3 to 3.5 hours to 80 percent and 4 to 5 hours for a full charge, and the battery is swap-capable with an IP67 waterproofing rating on the motor.
Hardware and features
Telescopic forks up front and coil-spring dampers at the rear carry a scooter that measures 1825 mm long with 170 mm of ground clearance and a single-piece seat at 780 mm. Braking is by drum at both ends with a combi-brake system, regenerative braking is standard, and the digital console covers speedometer, odometer and tripmeter duties with side-stand warning and low-battery alert. Alloy wheels wear tubeless 90/100-10 tyres.
Warranty and ownership
The battery carries a 3-year or 40,000 km warranty, the motor 1 year or 25,000 km and the charger 1 year, backed by 24x7 roadside assistance that Vegh launched with Global Assure. Light Blue, Matt Black and White are the colour options carried with verified imagery, though dealer brochures have also listed Cyan, Spring Yellow and Siachen White Mono names.
