Stella Moto BUZZ: price in India
The BUZZ is the first electric scooter from Stella Moto, the Kolkata-based electric two-wheeler maker backed by the Jaidka Group. Launched in December 2022, it sells in a single STD variant at Rs 95,000 ex-showroom, which puts it under the Rs 1 lakh mark that most established electric scooters now cross.
Battery, motor and range
A 2.16 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack feeds a 2 kW BLDC hub motor. The chemistry was chosen deliberately for Indian conditions: the pack carries A-grade LFP cells watched over by a microprocessor-based Smart BMS and four temperature sensors that cut power if anything overheats. Claimed range is 90 km per charge with a top speed of 55 km/h, and a full charge on a regular home charge point takes roughly five to six hours. Braking is a disc up front and a drum at the rear, with an upside-down front fork and twin spring-loaded shockers behind.
Features
The kit list reads above its price: all-LED lighting, a digital instrument console with speedometer, odometer and trip meter, cruise control, anti-theft alarm with remote, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB charging port, push-button start, central locking and underseat storage. Alloy wheels wear tubeless tyres, and ground clearance is a healthy 180 mm.
Who should buy one?
The BUZZ targets daily city commutes and last-mile delivery duty - the 150 kg load-carrying capacity is the giveaway. It needs a driving licence and registration since it tops out well past the 25 km/h no-licence class. Warranty at launch was quoted at three years for the vehicle, with battery and motor covered for two years per current spec sheets. Just check your nearest dealer first: the Stella Moto network is concentrated around Kolkata and eastern India.
