Poise NX120: swappable-battery city scooter from Bengaluru
The NX120 is Poise Scooters' sporty electric scooter, launched in March 2022 and built at the company's Yeshwanthpur plant in Bengaluru. Its defining feature is the portable Li-ion battery: the pack swaps out of the frame, so you can charge it at a domestic 220V socket away from the scooter, or carry a spare for longer days.
Motor, battery and range
A 2.2 kW BLDC hub motor (1800 W continuous) drives the NX120 to a claimed top speed of 55 km/h. Poise sold it in three pack sizes named by capacity: 34 Ah, 43 Ah and 52 Ah, with claimed ranges of 90-100 km, 110-140 km and 130-150 km per charge respectively. Charging takes 4.5 to 5 hours from empty.
Chassis, brakes and features
At 102 kg kerb, the NX120 is easy to thread through traffic, and it stops on discs at both ends backed by a Combine Braking System. Full LED lighting with DRLs, a digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres (110/70-12 front, 120/70-12 rear), underseat storage, a pillion backrest and a side-stand ignition cut round out the kit. FM radio and a phone-charging USB point are part of the package.
Ownership
Poise backed the battery for 3 years and the motor for 2. The 55 km/h top speed places it outside the licence-exempt low-speed class, so RTO registration and a valid driving licence are required. It was offered in five shades: Nimbus Grey, Porcelain White, Racy Red, Matte Black Blue and Midnight Black.
