The Ola S1 Z is the most affordable entry point in Ola Electric's S1 scooter range. Launched in November 2024 alongside the Ola Gig, it is a budget-focused city scooter built around a portable, swappable 1.5 kWh battery — a first for the S1 family — with an optional second battery for roughly double the range.

Priced from Rs 59,999 to Rs 64,999 (ex-showroom) across two variants — the S1 Z STD (double seat, 12-inch wheels) and the S1 Z + (single seat with a rear carrier and front rack, 14-inch wheels). Both share the same 3 kW hub motor and removable battery hardware.

Battery & Range

Ships with a single removable 1.5 kWh portable battery claiming 75 km per charge (IDC); an optional second battery of the same capacity lifts the claimed range to 146 km. The battery can be swapped in minutes, removing the need for a dedicated home charging point.

Performance & Features

A 3 kW hub motor drives the rear wheel with a claimed top speed of 70 km/h and a 0-40 km/h time of 4.7 seconds, tuned for urban commuting. It gets an LCD console with Bluetooth, the Ola mobile app, all-LED lighting, push-button start, underseat storage and tubeless wheels, with drum brakes and a combined braking system (no ABS).

The S1 Z is for students, first-time EV buyers and daily city commuters who want the lowest-cost entry into the S1 range without giving up a removable battery. With a 3-year / 50,000 km battery warranty and running costs owners estimate at roughly Rs 0.13 per km, it is among the cheapest electric scooters to own from a mainstream brand.
