The Honda Dio EV is an upcoming electric scooter from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), expected to join the company's electric line-up around 2027 alongside the Activa e:, QC1 and QC3. As of August 2026 Honda has not yet announced official specifications, pricing or a confirmed launch date for the Dio EV, so this listing is intentionally pre-launch.

Market Position

An electric iteration of Honda's popular Dio nameplate, the Dio EV is positioned as a commuter-focused electric scooter for the Indian market. Honda's July 2026 unveil of a 10-product Made-in-India portfolio did not include a Dio EV; the brand's newest electric scooter revealed there was the QC3. The Dio EV has therefore not been officially confirmed as a product yet.

Range, Battery & Charging

Honda has not revealed the Dio EV's battery capacity, claimed range or charging times. For context, the QC3 electric scooter unveiled in July 2026 carries a 3 kWh battery with a claimed IDC range of around 145 km, but no comparable figures exist for the Dio EV at this stage. Details will be added as Honda announces them closer to launch.

Performance & Driving

No motor output, top speed or acceleration figures have been published for the Dio EV. As a commuter-focused electric scooter, it is expected to be tuned for daily city use, but the specification sheet remains unannounced.

Practicality & Features

Honda lists the Dio EV in five colours: Imperial Red Metallic, Mat Axis Gray Metallic, Mat Marvel Blue, Pearl Igneous Black and a Pearl Igneous Black with Pearl Deep Ground Gray two-tone. Feature details such as the instrument cluster, underseat storage and charging hardware are yet to be confirmed.

Who Should Buy It

The Dio EV is for buyers who want a commuter-focused electric scooter wearing the familiar Dio nameplate with Honda's two-wheeler service network behind it. Because the model is unconfirmed and pre-launch, anyone who needs an electric scooter today is better served by Honda's on-sale Activa e: and QC1.
