The Honda Activa e: is the electric version of India's best-selling scooter nameplate, built around two swappable 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery packs. Instead of plug-in charging, riders swap a fresh pack in about a minute at Honda e:SWAP stations, pairing a familiar Activa silhouette with a 6 kW electric motor and a claimed 102 km IDC range.

Priced from ₹1.18 lakh to ₹1.53 lakh (ex-showroom) across two variants — the Activa e STD and the Activa e Honda RoadSync Duo, the latter adding a 7-inch TFT screen with turn-by-turn navigation, smart key and connected app features. Both variants share the same 3 kWh swappable battery and 102 km range.

Battery & Range

Two swappable 1.5 kWh lithium-ion packs (3 kWh combined) deliver a claimed IDC range of 102 km. Batteries can only be swapped at Honda e:SWAP stations, not charged at home, so the scooter requires the Honda battery-subscription plan. Owners typically report 65-95 km of real-world range.

Performance

A 6 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor produces 22 Nm of torque, a claimed 80 km/h top speed and a 0-60 km/h time of 7.3 seconds. Three riding modes — Econ, Standard and Sport — let riders balance efficiency and response, with reverse assist for parking.

Dimensions & Practicality

At 1,854 mm long with a 1,310 mm wheelbase and 675 mm seat length, the Activa e is a spacious, upright city scooter with a 171 mm ground clearance and 118-119 kg kerb weight. The swappable packs occupy the under-seat space, leaving two small glove boxes (0.5 L each) and front hooks for storage.

Market Position

Positioned against the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X, the Activa e leans on Honda's reliability and the convenience of battery swapping rather than outright range or performance. Sales initially focus on Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru as the e:SWAP network expands.
