Ather EL01: the affordable Ather, arriving as the Konarc
The EL01 began life as Ather's concept for a genuinely affordable family electric scooter, and the company has now confirmed its production identity: the Ather Konarc, set to be unveiled at Ather's Community Day on August 29, 2026. It sits below the Rizta in the lineup and is expected to carry an ex-showroom price of roughly Rs 99,000, which would make it the most accessible way into an Ather yet.
Built on the low-cost EL platform
The Konarc rides on Ather's new EL platform, engineered for cost efficiency: one tubular steel frame shared across multiple future models, with variations in subframe, suspension, wheels and battery pack creating different scooters from the same bones. Ather says the main frame, wiring and powertrain architecture stay common, while packs span roughly 2 kWh to 5 kWh across the platform.
Hardware we know so far
The scooter uses a swingarm-mounted motor similar to the 450 series unit, tuned for smoother delivery rather than outright punch. Running gear comprises 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheels, a telescopic fork, a monoshock, a front disc with a rear drum, and Ather's electrical braking setup that adds regenerative slowing on top of the mechanical brakes. Reports point to a metal body panel construction, a first for an affordable Ather.
Features and charging
Expect a TFT console running AtherStack 7 with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, riding modes and walk assist. Leaked details suggest an inbuilt 450 W charger that plugs straight into a wall socket, with an optional external fast charger cutting a 0-80% session to around two hours. Claimed IDC range figures circulating ahead of launch run from 100 km up to 200 km depending on variant and pack.
